Many conferences and events, large and small, now involve complex communications links to other venues. Examples include:

Teleconferencing between sites in different cities.
Corporate productions involving concurrent satellite links to sites around the globe.
Events at which the interpreters are at a separate venue, requiring a link to the event via satellite or other technology.

The technology requirements for simultaneous interpretation involving remote links can be complex and subtle. Even the simplest links require "mix-minus" feeds.
